New Category: Dog attacks

I have several (if I do say so, myself) excellent posts on defending against dog attacks. I say they're excellent for three reasons:

  1. In researching them, I consulted authorities on the subject

  2. I didn't know anything about it, but learned a lot, and know that you will too, and...

  3. They get a ton of hits

As a result, I created the Dog attacks category. Please check it out today.

Dojo Rat here:
I have had several times when I have been chased by dogs, usually farm dogs working in packs.
One time I was in California and was training for a promotion test. I was jogging through almond orchards and was chased by three farm dogs. I realized I could not outrun them, and stopped, stood my ground, and let out a huge ki-ai martial yell.
The dogs stopped dead in their tracks and ran the other way. I have used that against dogs ever since, and have even read about a guy using it against a Moose in Alaska the same way....

Ki-ai can definitely cause an involuntary response in the subject. I have used it to good effect before, but never on an animal. I'll give it a try!
Any more stories on this?
