RIP Jack LaLanne

image

As most of you know, Mr. Jack LaLanne just passed away at the healthy age of 96. I remember watching this amazing “old” guy on TV on Saturday mornings selling a juicer, while wearing a ridiculous jumpsuit, or doing something amazing on a talk show. He never rested in evangelizing the benefits of getting up and moving. He didn’t just sell it, he DID it! Over the years, we’d hear of him performing one amazing feat after another at the prime ages of 75, 80, etc. He never stopped. Until now.

His life is a statement of mortality to many, but to me, if inspires me to think of what we can do with the lives we’re given. He’s done more for fitness than probably anyone, and set an example for how to live well – and without boundaries - to millions of people around the world.

Thanks Jack. Rest now (I’m guessing he’s laughing at that quaint expression while pumping out a gazillion reps for fun).

If we can inspire our students half as much as Jack inspired us, we will produce some amazing martial artists. RIP Jack.
