TDA Blitz 2008.10.03

OK, welcome back to the TDA Training Blitz, where we post links and snippets of things we find, like, really interesting and stuff. Enjoy. Comments are welcomed.

  1. Jiu-Jitsu Sensei has a great review and video of the unbreakable umbrella. Unbreakable Umbrella
  2. Just added Modern Kung fu to the blogroll. The author doesn't seem to discriminate by limiting his material to Kung Fu and other Asian words, but links and posts on everything from MMA, to self-defense, to combatives training. Check it out!
  3. Fightclub.Team.Pro has finally fixed his RSS feed, so I am now subscribing. If you want to watch hours of great martial arts competition video, head over and check it out.
  4. I've been reading a blog devoted to maritime matters, with a current focus on piracy. Check out EagleSpeak. From the author's bio: "Attorney (including stints as an oil company lawyer). Retired Navy Reserve Captain (Surface Warfare). Opinions expressed herein are my own. Sometimes I have the experience to back them up. Your opinions may vary. Don't panic. Nothing contained herein should be confused as me giving legal advice to anyone. If you are confused, welcome to the club. Spelling errors and typos are the result of gremlins in my keyboard."
  5. Why, Pat Parker must have a lot of courage to do a MA blogger throwdown with me! His post, Nathan vs. Pat - who'd win? My reply to this insolent challenge? THIS!
  6. Which city has the most TDA Training readers? Let's see:
Where do they read TDA Training the most?
I think that each of these cities who read TDA should begin today to collect enough funds to fund a trip for two (me and the missus!) to your cities to meet you all - when I'm done sightseeing. Let's get on that, eh? And George, where are all the Los Angeles readers? Send some over. One final question: how does Sydney get to be two cities?
  7. Looking to supercharge your training? Head over to the Fight Geek and check out his Training Ideas category. In it, you'll find things like Neck Bridges, Holding Your Breath Underwater (what??), bodyweight exercises, Round the World Pull-ups, and more.
  8. Dojo Rat has another video (those rats are on a roll), this time on a Bagua Pass move. Well worth watching.
