What metro area has the most martial arts schools?

I'm voting for Boston. I have been working in the Boston area for a few days, and have never seen so many storefront studios. Amazing!

Chicago is pretty thick with them too. When I'm on the conference circuit I always check the hotel yellow pages. Lame. :-)

I haven't done that (at least that I will admit), but I was impressed by what I actually saw: NO chains, a great diversity of schools and styles, and in close proximity. None appeared particularly prosperous, but then, as a kid, the one I learned at were holes in the wall, so to speak. I know it wasn't very scientific a sampling method, but interesting to me, just the same.

CKA, I am impressed by your longevity and obvious pride and passion. I try to check out schools during my travels. Maybe some day I can stop in.
