In Chad Boykin's article on "Using and Defending the Roundkick", Boykin covers the Thai kick. Not the most comprehensive, but this series is meant to handle the basics, and it does that well. I don't disagree with anything here, except covering versus a head kick. I like you to keep the guard out, rather than covering up. My experience is that these Thai kicks are too powerful to cover up against, if you can avoid it. Read it.
