I wrote an article on the back fist which you may find interesting,

http://markschat.blogspot.com/2007/12/backfist-uraken.htmlMARKShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04380622177307391580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7109323.post-22360756739509590712008-01-13T14:53:00.000-05:002008-01-13T14:53:00.000-05:00I agree that there is a big difference between "vi...I agree that there is a big difference between "vital points" and pressure points. If you ever get the chance to go to a training with Kyoshi Bill Hayes, you'll learn lots about vital points. He's amazing with them.Blackbeltmamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04069495769299557679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7109323.post-26670654907104425832008-01-12T14:06:00.000-05:002008-01-12T14:06:00.000-05:00Thanks for the great ideas. I also love the hammerfist out-to-in and in-to-out motions to the side of the neck as well.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09626368113292368276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7109323.post-25013555199736586962008-01-11T00:48:00.000-05:002008-01-11T00:48:00.000-05:00Good Job, Rick. very good instructional. Something both of y'all probably considered but maybe didn't mention was the hammerfist can be used as a good striking surface in an arc almost opposite to what Rick is showing.

At a range slightly longer than elbow-length, you can punch a hammerfist straight into a target - almost like a closed-fisted palm-heel. This punching hannerfist can really be used effectively at ranges between very close to beyond elbow reach.

Another way of thinking about the punching hammer is the under-hand in the tekki sequence Rick shows. The hand that Rick calls a hook punch. That hooking punch can strike with the hanner surface to good effect.

Anyway, good post. keep it up!Patrick Parkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04471858995477729220noreply@blogger.com
